Fabulous hiking holiday in the Dolomites

The Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, have everything a hiker could ever wish for. There are difficult decisions to be made at our hiking hotel in Antermoia: Should we head through Puez-Geisler Nature Park or would it be better to take one of the paths through the nearby Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park? Both destinations offer infinitely beautiful natural backdrops. The Kronplatz mountain is more famous for its skiing, but in summer it is transformed into the perfect place for a hiking holiday in the Dolomites.
Guests can get to the starting point of their hiking tour easily and conveniently with the free HolidayPass. And if hunger strikes after a lengthy period of walking, there is sure to be a chalet nearby offering hearty local fare.

The region's best hikes

Hiking trails to a wide array of destinations start on our hiking hotel’s doorstep in Antermoia. We recommend hikes to the Würzjoch mountain, to the Peitlerwiesen alpine meadow and to the Lüsner Joch ridge. If you want more of a challenge, you can continue from the ridge to the Maurerberg mountain or the enchanting Glittner See lake.

Naturpark Fanes-Sennes-Prags

A 6.5-hour circular tour from cabin to cabin starts at the Maurerberghütte cabin, then goes to the Börz, Cir, Sotpütia and Fornella cabins, ending at the Göma cabin.
There are equally as nice routes from the Würzjoch, where popular spots include the Maurerberg, the Göma cabin and the Peitler Scharte with the option to continue to the Schluterhütte cabin or to the Peitlerkofel mountain. These last two destinations can be added to the Peitlerkofelrunde hiking trail. We also recommend the Günther-Messner-Steig trail through the Aferer Geisler mountains.

Nordic Walking in the nature reserve

Nordic walking is all about moving in harmony with the body’s natural alignment. The poles increase stability and relieve joints. Visitors can practice this popular sport on more than 100 km of signposted paths in the Nordic Walking Park in Funes Valley. They can also take in the stunning views of the summits of the Geisler mountains as you go.

Hotel reviews

  • Personal touch
I had the most amazing stay. The owner went out of her way to provide service above and beyond. Made breakfast at 4:30 am so I could make the start of my cycle Gran Fondo. The room was beautiful and cleaned daily and the meals were sumptuous. Staff were exceptional. I recommend this hotel.

  • “Jewel of a Hotel”
We have stayed at this family-run hotel twice while skiing over New Year's week, and both times were absolutely wonderful. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and they are able to offer family-sized, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suites that work well for us, especially with all of our skiing paraphernalia. The Prousch family and their employees work very hard to make sure their customers feel like guests. In the course of a week, you get to know other guests, many of whom return year after year, for good reason. The new bar area reminds me of staying at a lodge or retreat, with families playing games, doing puzzles and chatting in the evening hours between skiing and dinner. My daughter loved the kids' area and made new friends (German and Italian are the languages in the kids' "club"). Breakfast and dinner are consistently excellent, with new culinary experiences each trip. The view of the Dolomites from the hotel is absolutely incredible...

  • Convenient,Clean,Friendly,Value
Stayed here in January 2012 for avalanche training in mountains and skiing for fun. Convenient to ski areas and Dolomiten hiking trails. Hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean. Food is excellent, but most importantly the Prausch family makes you feel at home and have excellent hospitality. Very nice people. The area is peaceful and special. Daily shuttles to the ski areas are complimentary. I will visit them again and highly recommend this hotel for family vacation or a ski vacation.
